A little more clarity
Answers to common questions about getting started, the assessment process and what happens next.
Getting started
Is the first consultation free?
Yes. The first step is a free 20-minute phone consultation. It is a chance to ask questions and discuss whether an assessment is the right next step. No assessment happens on this call.
Where do assessments take place?
Assessments take place in person at 30 Whitehall Street, Dundee, DD1 4AF.
How long is the waiting list?
Contact the team for the next available appointment. We will confirm your pathway, price and appointment availability before you decide to go ahead.
The assessment
Can I bring someone who knew me as a child?
For adult assessments, you may choose to involve someone who knew you well during childhood, such as a parent, carer, sibling or another trusted person. You are welcome to share school reports, previous assessments and professional letters.
What happens after the assessment?
You will receive a detailed written report summarising the information gathered, clinical findings, outcome and recommendations for support. A follow-up phone call can be offered if you have further questions.
How will you help my child feel comfortable?
The first family appointment helps the team get to know your child, answer questions and think about support for later appointments. Activities are chosen to suit your child’s age, communication style and developmental level.
